Clinic Descriptions

Pee Wee 3-5 years old:

Class runs for 30 minutes.  This is a fun, high energy, supportive atmosphere with exposure to the game using USTA 10 and under Tennis format.  Motor skill development will be emphasized.  Smiles and success are the main goals.

Smashers 5-7 years old:

Class runs for 1 hour.  A fun game-based USTA 10 and Under Tennis approach where kids  learn to rally on a 36-foot court.  Emphasis on throwing, catching, striking, and footwork skills.

10 and Under Team:

Class runs for one hour. Players progress using USTA 10 and Under Tennis format. Instruction stresses overhead serving and score keeping using transitional balls and appropriate size and weight racquets playing on a 36', 60' and 78'. courts. Instruction stresses sportsmanship and proper tennis etiquette.

Members: $14/one hour clinic    $140/session

Non-Members: $19/one hour clinic   $190/session

Junior Suburban Practice:

Class runs for 1.5 hours. This clinic is for players on the bantam and intermediate teams.

Pizza Night

Class runs for 1.5 hours. A Jr. Surburban player favorite! 
Price includes pizza and drink which is served at end of every practice.

High School Tournament Training

This is for the Varsity High School level/USTA Tournament player looking to improve fitness level and tournament skills, as well as increase his/her knowledge of match strategy.

• Saturday: 10:00am-12:00pm

*Private Lessons by Appointment Members: $45/one hour  Non-Members: $55/one hour

USTA Summer Junior Team Tennis 14U and 18U. Summer league play begins June 9 and ends July 14.  Play day- Sunday 4:00 pm.  L-4 Points awarded for advancement to District Championships (July 21). L-3 Points awarded for Sectional Championship (August 11) advancement. Contact Tennis Office for information.

REGISTRATION

Entry fee is $16.00/tournament and must be in the hands of the tournament director by the entry deadline, 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27.  You can register by mail  (make checks payable to Avalon Recreation Association).  Printable entry forms available on this website by clicking on the "News" section

*Note: In keeping with USTA regulations, the 8 and under division will be played with the red ball on a 36 ft. court and modified scoring.  The 10 and under division will be played with the orange balls on a 60 foot court.
